Samadhi was born in São Paulo (Brazil’s largest metropolis) and has been dancing from the age of 6. Trained originally in Jazz and Hip Hop she won her first competition at the tender age of 8 with a solo jazz routine. Samadhi has been surrounded by music and dance her entire life as she comes from a family of famous professional Brazilian musicians and dancers. Her musical roots have heavily influenced her passion for the many dance styles of popular Brazilian rhythms, and especially ignited her interest in Samba and Forró. After moving to Australia in 2003, Samadhi took the opportunity to follow her passion and became a Forró instructor.
Samadhi’s skills and qualifications also include a Bachelor in Social Communications and many years of experience teaching English and Portuguese as a second language. This year Samadhi will help Brazilian Dance Fusion students learn more about Brazil’s rich culture and beautiful language by teaching a language class called ‘Portuguese: language and culture’, where she will finally combine her vast knowledge of Brazilian dance styles and their origins, the Brazilian rich history with Brazilian Portuguese classes for anyone that wants to learn or travel to Brazil.
